The event takes place at MOC exhibition centre March 19 through 21

In the wake of the 83rd theMICAM, the world's most important footwear event, held at Fiera Milano (Rho) February 12 through 15, Assocalzaturifici continues its international promotion of the Italian footwear industry. The next event on the calendar is the 47th edition of Moda Made in Italy, Germany's most important event for Italian footwear, coming up on March 19 at MOC exhibition centre in Munich.

About 115 exhibitors will represent 215 Italian and European brands and show off their best collections for fall/winter 2017/2018. The event, which will remain open until March 21, primarily targets footwear dealers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Northern Europe, who have been demonstrating interest in Italian footwear for more than 20 years.

Italy currently exports more than 30 million pairs of shoes to Germany every year. In the first ten months of 2016 Italy registered a 2.9% increase in exports to Germany in terms of value, or 0.8% by quantity, as compared to the same period in 2015. Germany is the second most important market for Italian footwear, whether calculated on the basis of volume or value of sales, right behind France, absorbing 16.9% of all Italy's exports by volume.

“Moda Made in Italy is held at a strategic time on the German trade fair calendar to offers buyers assistance in the purchasing process," says Assocalzaturifici vice chair Giovanna Ceolini. “After February's international events, theMICAM and Fashion Week in Milan, the German event offers an opportunity to finalise the season's orders. Thanks to the versatility of the Munich exhibition centre, in recent editions we have offered exhibitors a choice of either pre-set stands or showroom spaces of various different sizes. Our exhibitors truly appreciated this flexibility."

But Moda Made in Italy is an all-round business opportunity.  On March 19 -  the opening day - all buyers are invited to Hall 4 of the MOC exhibition centre to attend “Trendtalks” presented by Eva Schabio, client specialist at WSGN, who will present the latest footwear fashion trends to dealers and provide useful hints on understanding consumers' needs and finalising sales strategies in Germany and elsewhere.

Hall 4 will also include a stand dedicated exclusively to quality Italian-made shoes. Here visitors and buyers will be able to watch shoes being made by skilled Italian craftspeople, who will demonstrate the steps in which quality Italian footwear is made.

Visitors and exhibitors will be offered numerous services, including an opportunity to preregister online at www.modamadeinitaly.eu and a buffet service exclusively for guests in the Vip Lounge right on the exhibition grounds.
